Oman’s National Center for Statistics and Information (NSCI) has revealed that the Sultanate’s Ministry of Housing has allotted a total of 28,099 residential properties across the country until the end of December 2019, which declined by 23.5% compared to 36,731 plots in the same period in 2018.

According to NSCI’s statistics, 7,767 residential plots were allotted in the governorate of A’Dakhiliya till the end of December 2019, marking the highest plot allotments among governorates, the Oman News Agency reported.

The governorate of South Al Batinah followed with 3,629 plots; Muscat with around 3,394 properties, North A’Sharqiyah with 3,328, South A’Sharqiyah with 2,499, and North Al Batinah North with 1,956 properties.

Additionally, 1,432, 1,369, 1,174, and 799 residential properties were allocated in the governorates of A’Dhahirah, Al-Buraimi, Musandam, and Al-Wusta, respectively.

NSCI findings showed that Muscat, Musandam, Al-Buraimi, North Al-Batinah, and Al-Wusta recorded significant increase in the number of land allotments until the end of December 2019 compared to the same period in 2018. Meanwhile, during the period of study property allotment in other governorates witnessed a noticeable decline.

Dhofar remained the lowest among governorates in the Sultanate with 752 residential plot allotments.
